Intro

Creating a CV that stands out is no easy task, but investing some time into it can help you to get over the initial check more frequently and get more invitations to the interview.

By following these simple pointers that are listed below, you will be able to achieve that.

I have gone through more than 1000 CVs in my career and here are 5 key things I look for when scanning through a CV from an engineer.

1. Structure of the CV

Even though you are not judged for design, it’s important to understand that the first impression is very important.

You should not have any spelling mistakes or issues with inconsistency with spacing between sections.

Also, the CV should be easy to read. Picking the right colors and fonts would contribute to that.

No need to spend weeks perfecting the design of the CV. Any well-structured CV template should work. The important thing is the clarity of your message and consistent structure.
