Intro

With every start of the new year, there comes new opportunities and new learning chances. Setting up goals is important, but even more important is to follow through and complete what you have set up for yourself.

One of the reasons for not completing your goals includes the fear of failure or in other words doing something that feels uncomfortable. Learning to get comfortable with being uncomfortable is a way to consistently being able to overcome your fears and strive towards improvements.

But this doesn’t only affect you. If you are a manager, and not able to consistently have those difficult discussions with your reports, peers, or your manager then you might be harming others as well.

How to start?

  1. The first step is always acknowledgment. I like to do a consistent retrospective of my actions and the decisions that I make. I always like to ask myself: Did I correctly respond? Did I make the right decision in this case? That brings you to a place where you constantly try to improv…
