This: "make it as close to the event as possible" is overlooked by most managers. The feedback needs to be immediate if it can, if not within hours or days.

Well said John! Yeah, I did that mistake and thought that "things will magically get better". Well, they never do. Always better to give feedback as early as possible.

Me too, and I suspect most, if not all of us do.

They key thing that many miss, is recognising it is a mistake and taking the uncomfortable step to chance.

At senior levels, there is nothing like constructive or destructive as stakes are high.

Be as raw and factual as possible.
