Intro

I’ve heard a lot of times before that you should make decisions based on your first instinct. But that might not always bring us the best results in our great industry.

The decisions made in engineering should never be made just because of a certain hunch → that means they are subjective. We should always rely on the facts and ensure that we objectively make decisions. Let’s take a look at that more closely.

Why relying just on the first instinct is not the best way to go in our industry?

There are so many nuances in our industry to everything that we do. Relying just on our first instinct will neglect all of the other approaches or options that may be better suited for the problem.
