“The Multiplier Mindset” hit the #1 New Release in Computer Engineering on Amazon
I was casually checking Amazon’s book page yesterday evening, and couldn’t believe that the book hit the #1 New Release in the Computer Engineering category.
I was so thrilled I needed to let know everyone in the community chat asap :)
I notified everyone earlier in the day that the e-book (Kindle) and pre-orders are now available, posted a LI post, X post, and also sent out the newsletter.
I knew it would take time for everyone to process and decide whether they’d like to buy or not, especially since the physical book is currently in production, available for pre-order, and will be sent out in about 3 weeks.
So zero expectations of something like that happening.
But yeah, it’s interesting how life can surprise you. And on top of that, another great surprise!
“The Multiplier Mindset” is also the #2 Bestseller in Computer Engineering on Amazon
While checking the New Releases page, there’s also a link to Bestsellers in the same category, and surprisingly, we also hit the #2 Bestseller in Computer Engineering, right behind the infamous AI Engineering by Chip Huyen 🤯
Which is really amazing. We just launched the Kindle version yesterday, and it’s really awesome to see that so many people are interested in it!
Early Reviews of the Book
There are already a lot of early reviews of the book. And I am honored to get such great feedback. Here is one by Peter Bell, Founder/CTO of Gather.dev, author of Scaling AI Adoption in Engineering:
“Now that agents can write the code, CTOs ask me, ‘What do I tell my senior engineers their job is?’ This is the book I’d hand them. The job is making the people around you better, and Ojstersek gets specific about how, from spec-driven workflows to scripts for managing up.”
This was exactly my intention with the book, to get as close as possible to what senior(+) engineers should be doing now that agents can write most of the code.
I went into detail about different ways you can multiply your effort, and there’s even one whole chapter that’s about how to use AI to be a successful multiplier.
More early reviews:
“I wish more engineers learned earlier in their careers that impact isn’t just about what you build yourself. Gregor’s book is a practical guide to becoming a multiplier: improving your team’s output, helping others grow, and, critically, learning how to sell your ideas.”
–John Crickett, Founder, CTO, Software Engineering Coach
“I’ve read Gregor’s newsletter for nearly two years, and his advice is always practical and battle-tested. As AI writes more of the code, this book is his playbook for what matters more than ever: multiplying the people around you.”
–Petar Ivanov, Senior AI & Product Engineer, WeTravel
“I’ve been reading Gregor’s teachings since his newsletter first started out. They are valuable because they’re rooted in practice and always hands-on. This book distills the best of them into one playbook for engineers growing into leadership.”
–Raphaël Hoogvliets, Principal Engineer, Eneco
“Gregor has created the kind of handbook I wish more engineers had by their side: relatable examples and practical advice for building the skills that expand your impact and move your tech career forward, especially in the AI era.”
–Anemari Fiser, author of Leveling Up as a Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, and Tech Leadership Trainer
“This is the book I wish I had when I started my career. Whether you are an individual contributor or a leader, everyone needs to be a multiplier. We have heard of the 10x engineer, this book shows you how to become one, and more.
Gregor shows how to use AI to be a multiplier and shares real-life examples of people becoming multipliers and achieving impact and growth.”
–Umang Vanjara, Senior Engineering Manager, SAP Taulia
“Really, really well written, with great pointers throughout. This is the kind of book that makes you pause, think, and rethink how you should approach your career - and how you perhaps should have approached it.”
–Arpit Bhayani, Principal Engineer II, Razorpay
“The Multiplier Mindset gives Senior, Staff, and Principal engineers a blueprint for jumping from writing great code to multiplying the impact of everyone around you.”
–Saurabh Ahuja, Principal Member of Technical Staff, Salesforce
“You can’t add hours to your week, but you create disproportionate impact by building leverage across people and systems. That’s what separates elite performers, and The Multiplier Mindset is the most practical playbook I’ve read on doing exactly that.”
–Omar Halabieh, Managing Vice President, Fortune 100 Financial Services Company
“Best in class! No matter where you are in your career, The Multiplier Mindset teaches you to look beyond your own output and focus on creating a bigger impact: on your team, your product, and ultimately your customers.”
–Daniel Moka, Software Engineer & Founder, Moka IT
“The Multiplier Mindset captures what modern engineering leadership really demands: helping teams make better decisions and do their best work. It’s a practical guide I’d recommend to any engineer looking to grow and lead in the AI era.”
–Raul Junco, Software Engineering Manager, ANDMORE
“In an AI era that’s redefining engineering, multiplying your value, not just writing code, is something most of us learn through years. This book gives you these valuable lessons sooner for junior to Senior+ and beyond.”
–Anton Antonov, Staff Engineer, SumUp
“An opinionated and tactical guide to becoming a more impactful engineer. A useful read for ICs figuring out what good looks like in this period of dramatic change.”
–Cate Huston, author of The Engineering Leader
“The Multiplier Mindset demystifies the hardest transition I coach engineers through: moving from solving technical problems solo to being a force multiplier for the team. Combining battle-tested coaching habits with pragmatic AI workflows, Ojstersek delivers an essential leadership playbook.”
–Aniruddh Chaturvedi, Engineering Manager, Cloud Run Infrastructure, Google
“Every engineer knows they should be using AI. The Multiplier Mindset shows them how. It’s exceptionally well-researched and packed with practical, actionable advice from engineers and leaders working at the frontier of the industry.”
–Yangshun Tay, AI Engineer, Co-Founder GreatFrontEnd
“Great engineers do more than ship code. They make everyone around them better. This is the most practical guide I’ve read on how to do it.”
–Dr. Milan Milanović, author of Laws of Software Engineering
At some point in your career, writing more code stops being the answer. The Multiplier Mindset shows engineers how to expand their impact through people, systems, and better decisions.
–Hemant Pandey, Senior Software Engineer, LinkedIn
